I was so sad to read in Leena Hedman’s journal tonight about the terrible injury that has happened to her rescue cat Minnie.
Extract from Leena’s Journal:-
Injured Cat
Sad news.. The “discarded” old cat I’ve been trying to protect from harm has been injured agin! I can’t believe it! This cat is somone’s throw-away cat and is declawed. I keep her fed, loved and sheltered to the best of my ability. She can’t stay in the house because my boys bully her, so she has been staying in my screened-in patio. ( we live in S Florida)
Something got to her last night and I could’t save her fro harm. When I went out she was gone. I searched , but could not find her. Today my tuxedo cat Whisper found her ( my boys will alert me to hiding animals) in my neighbor’s bushes. Her hind leg seems to be broken. I am soooooo sad, mad and desperate. I need to take her to the vet in an hour. This is so bad news financially, we just can’t afford this. Pray for a miracle dear friends. =( xxx ooo
I know that there are many animal lovers here on RB – any small thing you can do to help would be so very appreciated – just to let Leena know that you are thinking of her and Minnie would mean such a lot.

i think an animal shelter that can care for, medically treat, and then find a family would be a better course of action

Thanks for your comment Dana – I understand that there is no shelter near to Leena and she has tried without success to rehome her. She is Minnie’s only hope for recovery.

Thank you Angela- The more people who journal this appeal the better. Vet fees are going to come to $ 500 maybe more, so th more donations Leena can get the better, or Minnie will sadly have to be put to sleep.
