The Clotbur, Large Cocklebur, Rough Cocklebur is endemic to North America and Eastern Asia, it is invasive weed.
Poisonous to horses, cattle, and sheep, which avoid it. On the other hand pigs consume the plants and then sicken and die. The seedlings and seeds, which once were eaten by the now extinct Carolina Parakeet and the seedlings are the most toxic parts.
