Native to Europe and Asia but is also found in the USA including my garden.
Tops and young leaves are edible, good in salads or in stirfry, finely chopped it can also be used in sauces. I have not tried this.
Family – Lamiaceae
Blooms April thru October, this weed can be found in thickets, roadsides and hopefully not your garden. Although this may be a pretty little plant with cute flowers to look at, it should not be willing spread as it is a very invasive plant. It this plant is left alone it will form very large colonies. I have been trying to extradite this plant from my gardens for years. I think I have it all pulled out and come spring here it is again. It also has a horrible smell.
