Artist's Description

The Curly-leaf Pondweed widespread in Eurasia and became an invasive weed in North America.

Rhizomes over-winter in the bottom of still and flowing waters. Stem length can reach lengths up to 8 meters, at times forming huge, entangled masses detached from the rhizomes and becoming a kind of floating island.

It is used as a decorative greenery in aquaria for its decorative, semi-translucent, curly leaves.
