This submerged aquatic plant s widespread in still or slow-moving waters in Europe, Asia, and North Africa. According to a survey undertaken in 2003 the Eurasian
Water-milfoil has been introduced into the US in the 1950’s now invaded every state of the contiguous US except for Wyoming and Montana.
Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington state have the largest areas of infestation.
It is cultivated in aquaria.
