Native from East Asia to Northern Australasia, where it is called Tree of Heaven.
Known also as “Ghetto palm” or “Poverty Tree” because it is ubiquitous in many cities all over the world where happens to be a piece of urban dirt. It got the name “Ghetto palm” because this plant is often bought for corners and then forgotten.
Fast growing tree up to 45 meter tall; invasive, can grow in crevices, etc of buildings where it can be very destructive. The sapling shown here illustrates that can quickly colonize even corn fields.
