Artist's Description

Cathedral of Verona Santa Maria Matricolare angle facade shot in a bright sunny day over blue sky with white clouds.

Destroyed twice in the past by earthquakes, the Verona Cathedral which we all know was built between 1117-1138 year. Since then there were made a lot of modifications. The interior was completely remodeled in the Gothic style in the 15th and 16th centuries. The Baroque addition at the upper part of the facade is part of 17th century additions. The bell tower, was built in the 16th century by Michele Sanmicheli and It contains nine bells.
The last restoration of frescoes, wooden furnishings and the lighting was made in 2002.
