In the Valley of Brigadoon
The valley from Route “JJ”, with Pilot Knob Mountain in the distance. The mountain’s iron smelting furnaces more than a century past cast a red glow into the night sky, providing a landmark for river pilots on the Mississippi 50 miles to the east, thus its name.
India ink on 9” x 11” vellum, from roadside in July, 95+ degrees F.
