Empty

The house sits like her heart… Empty, once full of love and life, now the halls echo with the laughter..the joy of their love, Memories of happiness are all she has. He left for work that day with a kiss to her lips, a “I love you” on his way out the door, she waved to him out the window and blew him a kiss..if she only knew that would be the last time she tasted his kiss, felt his touch, she would never have let him go..The only relief out of all this pain and heartache is he didn’t suffer, when the truck hit his car head on, he died instantly.

Now she waits, unable to leave their home, not wanting to go on, knowing that he waits for her..she prays for “HER” life after death, to be in his arms again, to feel his kiss, his touch, to make this house their home for eternity, the way it should have been..but again she wakes to the emptiness of the halls, the emptiness of their bed and of her heart..she goes to the window and like a movie played over and over agiain she sees him getting into his car..she pounds on the window..yells for him to STOP!!!..to COME BACK!!!...and like every day he pulls away and disappears into thin air…leaving her again.to her pain, and their empty house.

Another abandoned house, Loved the blue color of this place.

Wow Kim…..I love your images as they seem to always tell a story but I absolutely love that you told ‘your’ story with this (not personal but you know what I mean I hope). Both image and words are perfect and in all honesty I got a little choked up! I admire your wonderful talent. This is so awesome :)

  • Kim Calvert replied

Oh Shelly, thank you so much for your great comment, I just seen this place..this one window at one time full of a happy family..to now sit alone and abandoned, sorta sad.

Beautiful shot, Kim. And, such a heartbreaking story to go with it. My heart aches… I think every woman who is fully in love with her husband has a nagging fear that something like this might happen. It’s a narrative that was scary and uncomfortable for me to read, but it is brilliant nonetheless – well done, you!

  • Kim Calvert replied

Yes I think we all have this fear, I suppose that is where my story came from, my own fear..Thank you so much for you comment, I always love hearing how you see and read my work.
