The Girl above the City

The Girl above the City

The world outside is reflecting on the mannequin in a window display. It looks like two photographs are sandwiched together, but it’s only one.

The Girl above the City belongs to the following groups:

That’s a really good photo, I thought it was a montage at first.

  • Kim Bender replied

I know it looks like that. Actually all the photos are not! I paid close attention to light, shadow and reflection. Check it out on a sunny day. :))

Great use of layers Kim, and your treatment of them, magic touch.Robin.

  • Kim Bender replied

Hi Robin, it is and was from the beginning only one photograph. There are no layers. I photographed the display of a window with it’s reflection (in this case the buildings on the other side of the street) with my analog camera. Thanks for your comment. :)

I did a series of mannequin photos – the only problem was the funny looks from passers by!

  • Kim Bender replied

LOL, that true! Or the question “what are you photographing” (with that funny look( you talked about) in their face as if something is wrong with you), but when I let them see what I saw they were impressed…...:))

She has the perfect pose for being a goddess in the sky, and given our current world situation, that Crossroads right in the middle has a new significance too! As for the disgruntled passers-by, if you start taking THEIR picture, I bet they’ll move right along!

  • Kim Bender replied

Thank you so much!!!...............love your interpretation!!!!
