Still
I lowered my dosage of medication ( for depression), and know that the coming weeks – maybe months – might be difficult at times. Tonight is one of those nights – and I know that I need to learn how to get through these lower moments. Being beside Neil is making it so much easier…I just hope he has the patience to see it through with me. xoxo

and there is work to be done
cleaning, renovating, cooking –
It’s hard to remember
to be still
When I am anxious, overwhelmed and frustrated
and can’t handle yet another request from an impatient child,
it’s the last thing on my mind
to be still.
When the depression starts to hit
and I’m easily agitated, easily brought to tears,
I can’t think clearly enough
to think of
being still
When I look at you
and see the tenderness in your eyes -
and you hold my hand and remind me to breathe deep -
I know that by your side
is the easiest place
to be
still.

beautiful piece- sounds like you have some loving support.. I can feel the helplessness in the poem, and the appreciation you have for having someone beside you. depression is difficult, I suffer from it too, especially this time of the year.. .I hope it lifts for you..

Yes, I could tell you were enjoying the love you told me of. Heart be still. We all need that grounding to shelter us from the cruelty of reality

There is always that one place or one person that brings us to a place of calmness, that stillness that we require to just say ‘aahhh’ and ultimately relax and enjoy that very moment. You’ve said that with abundant clarity in this. A lovely write. Michael
