Milford Sound - Fiordland NZ by

A calm morning on an eb tide at Milford sound…though this ambience was to change no less than 10minutes after this photograph was composed when the frequent westerly winds came in and the water chopped up losing all reflections..

This is an uncropped and unstitched photograph taken on Fuji Velvia slide film then digitally converted to B&W. Once a gain only a sample image at this stage. The large scan is available on request…

rotating drum lens camera 130deg. field – no cropping, no stitching. Velvia 100F.

Nice one! … gotta go to NZ one day for sure …
Hmmm, the cropping is abit too tight tho, leaving the left top bit crop out …

    Luv the scene however :D

Hi MD81 – thanks for the comment :)
there is no cropping involved here – this is taken with a rotating drum lens camera…to fit the top of that peak in would involve a bend in the horizon on the photograph – which would not be appropiate for this scene imo.
NZ is a spectacular country for sure ! I loved it.

Great sky and reflection in this beautiful scene. I would have liked to have seen the peak of the left mountain, but this is still a nice scene.

cheers for the comment Anthony – appreciated :)
Though the confines of true panoramic photography (rotating drum lense cameras in particular) don’t always allow for such compositions without putting unrealistic curves in the horizon.

I agree, cropping a teenzie bit too tight but a sensational b&w image!
