Tidal river - Wilsons Promontory

Tidal river - Wilsons Promontory

as always please click on the image for a better view..

A windy evening looking up Tidal river towards the cloud capped Mt. Latrobe. With any chance of nice light gone because of the weather. I had a perception that the very strong winds could add to a moody image by creating leading lines on the river surface with a longer exposure.

I hope you like the resultant photograph.

Fantastic photo. Have you taken it at a veery slow shutter speed? I love the soft blurr of the trees and water.

  • Tony Middleton replied

thanks for the comment Tony – this exposure was 30seconds. It was so windy that i was unsure whether any of the gusts would create some camera movement so i was holding down hard on my tripod during it.

Fantastic panorama Tony! I love the way the trees on the left seem to be straining to follow the flow of the river. Really nice composition.

Great mood Tony with the muted light…The long exposure adding some dynamics to the shot and even though the water is smoothened, you still feel the movement…Great capture…I love this spot along Tidal River…both you and Trav. are making me Prom hungry..!!...best regards, Rob.

Um, Tone I don’t know if you care or not but in regard to the caption that’s actually a cloud capped Mt Ramsay not Mt LaTrobe. Love those wind lines on the water, so hard to capture some climatic conditions but you’ve really done it justice here.
