nothing...something
Far western NSW near the SA border these dry low ranges appear barren and lifeless. Often when there appears to be nothing, under closer scrutiny or if one takes the time to ‘feel’ the landscape all matter of ‘treasures’ can be found. So where there is nothing – there is always something. On this occasion in the very late afternoon light the landscape took on an all new appearance. What was arid dry ‘washed’ out looking scenerey took on a hugely contrasting glow against what still was a deep blue outback sky – one symbolic of a very dry atmosphere above. The folds of millions of years of time and erosion on these ranges became emphasised.

Beautiful colour and composition.

Great image, thought provoking words. Your observations are sound, if only more people took the time to look a little harder, a little longer, there really is so much to be found.

thanks guys for commenting.
Lisa you are so correct – I love to emmerse myself within an environment where ever it is…it is only then, that you can see, smell, hear, feel its uniqueness.
I realise this photograph may not appeal to many…but those that have spent time in the outback may be able to relate to it and my words.

Beautiful afternoon light on a landscape that is rarely seen. Great placement of the branch to add a bit of interest and that colour is just superb.

thanks also Shane for such a huge wrap..your comments like all are always highly valued – my remark was made in the fact that this is not a ‘jump out in your face looking image as a thumbnail in particular’
