Boolimba Bluff
Amidst Queensland’s central highlands is a magical place that has increased in popularity immensly in recent years – Carnarvon NP. Having been to the area many times over the last 15yrs I have seen it change and I opted for one of the less popular trails to start the day. This pre-dawn 3-4km walk up the 963 odd steps and steel ladders without a soul to be seen or heard was worth the experience of watching this magic start to the day.

Sometime just being there is enough, but glad we get to see the great image too.
Tony Middleton replied
hi Shane,
Yeah I’m a firm believer in that the experience is foremost.. If I can represent that place and emotions in my images and words then it’s very satisfying.
cheers,

freakin stunning Tony!! that light is to die for. perfect way to start the day
the funny thing i always find when doing a walk like that pre-dawn, is when you come down. people are headed up. and nearly everyone is like “you’ve already been up?? no way??” haha.
Tony Middleton replied
hey Stephen,
Yeah itcame out real nice for a sunrise that in itself was as boring as all hell.. but I stuck about with a vision of something like this coming off.
Yeah you do get some weird comments sometimes ! each to their own I guess….
cheers,

Fantastic golden light….the reward of all those steps was certainly worth it…Brilliant landscape Tone.
Tony Middleton replied
hey Rob,
Yeah I was feeling a bit let down with the deadset boring sky ! I still ‘saw’ and managed to make something out of it all though which was cool ;)
cheers,
