seen better days...
One of the few images I can access at the moment due to hardware problems…
This was shot last year on a cold wet winter’s day in the Strzelecki ranges. I love stumbling upon old rustic wrecks and relics and feel they can make great subjects. This one has obviously seen better days and in fact now has a tree growing up through the cab and where the windscreen once was.

Seen better days Tony, excellent shot love the composition! Hope all goes well with the HDD recovery!!
Tony Middleton replied
thanks John ! Ideally I didn’t want to bullseye it but to get the angle that I wanted and not have crap in the background this is what I came up with.
cheers,
Puggs
I don’t know, it might still go as a paddock basher, but then i could be barking up the wrong tree, like this ute is…
Great shot, and a great find….
Tony Middleton replied
haha – too many punchlines in the one punchline there.. ;)
Cheers Dion !
Lisa Jewell
I sure do relate to that truck….
you have a wonderful eye, just gorgeous and earthy tones…
Tony Middleton replied
hi Lisa !
Yeah I can relate to it today as well.. thanks heaps !

Ben Messina
Great shot mate, gotta love finds like this.
Tony Middleton replied
very true Ben… they don’t always work compositionally or the light sucks when you find them… so it’s great when they sort of come off hey.
Phil Thomson IPA
A great image, with excellent contrasting colours in the grown and green and superb lighting, all the way through to the sheep run in the background, Tony !!!
Tony Middleton replied
Thanks Phil ! glad you like the stockyard there – I tried to get that on with the best angle for the old ute whilst keeping a road and unwanted junk out that was to the left of frame.
Richard George
Splendid find, composition and presentation!!
Tony Middleton replied
hi Richard – thanks mate, glad you like it too :)
Craig Harris
Suer has seen better days, top shot Tony
Tony Middleton replied
It certainly has Craig – and given it’s location I think it’s there until the very end !
cheers,
Kristi Bryant
Great find and terrific shot! It sure does look like a cold and wet day and I’m with Phil, love the yard in the b/ground! Good luck with the HD
Tony Middleton replied
hi Kristi, It’s always great to hear that people notice some of the smaller things that I try to do in my compositions and photography. Thanks for the HD wishes too. :)

Great find and great photo. The Strzelecki ranges are a great place for old things. We have found a few olds cars and buildings there.
Tony Middleton replied
hi, Yeah they are – I think all regional and rural areas are loaded with old relics etc when you get out there and have a good look..
thanks for commenting :)

G’day Tony,
What a great find on such wet day, the old truck looks it has seen a lot better days, the colour just stands out on these such days. Great photo.
Cheers Rod.
Tony Middleton replied
G’day Rod,
Yep the rain certainly does bring out the colour saturation.
cheers,

Nice in panoramic format mate! Stumbling across old relics is a pleasure, if you can make a good image as well, even better!
Tony Middleton replied
hi Tim – yeah sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, I also think it does in this case. There are plenty of old wrecks and relics about but getting one that works photographically can be a bit tougher…
cheers,
Louise Cooke
awwhh that’s cool – gorgeous rich colour and loads of character :))
Tony Middleton replied
hi Louise – yeah I love some of these types of shots – as you mention…loads of character !
cheers,
Vicki Ferrari
Hey Tony, you found my car! Yay! (does it still start?) :)) I knew I had too much rum that night, and that loading ramp made a great jump! :)

Great photograph, especially in pano!
Tony Middleton replied
thanks Vicki ! I wondered who was responsible…. ;)
