hmmm, not much left…
looks great, i like the composition & the sky looks pretty cool
Tony Middleton replied
The angle/composition wasn’t quite how I had envisaged shooting it…but the light and sky dictated that I shoot it as above, I feel it still worked quite well.
Thanks Stefan !
AmandaWitt
I wonder what stories it would have to tell?
Tony Middleton replied
interesting point Amanda… thanks !

G’day Tony
You just wonder what the rest of the home was like, great old open fire place, if only those bricks could only talk. the sky looks good and even thr old building in the background, great photo. Cheers Rod.
Tony Middleton replied
hi Rod, yeah I’m speculating that it could have been built in the 1800’s as it’s located in one of the states earlier settled areas.
thanks !
Aleksander
nicely captured Tony!
Tony Middleton replied
thanks Aleksander !

Quite remarkable that it is still intact – usually there are simply remnants of the chimney, which still seems to outlast the rest of the building…
Great placement of it in the image….and like the others, I love the sky.
Tony Middleton replied
hi Enivea, yeah well from the looks of it it just a matter of time before this chimney crumbles as well. The sky was one of the key factors to wy I went there specifically this day to shoot it.
Thanks,
tone
Rowan Nancarrow

Tony Middleton replied
Thanks Rowan – yeah it adds a lot to it I feel.

They made em tough in those days! Love the framing and exposure, Tone!
Tony Middleton replied
thanks Mel !

imagine who might’ve sat in front of that chimney once apon a time .. with walls around them and hopefully much love .. i’m always amazed at how old chimneys stand the test of time .. ironic that they are filled with fire that destroys. thanks for your recent visit to my page and comments too x
Tony Middleton replied
Hi PJ,
Yeah it certainly would have some stories I bet. I love finding/seeing stuff like this still standing in paddocks and bushland. They make a great subject and a nice change from the scenic landscapes that I often shoot.
thanks,
tone :)
