Top-end thunderstorm
The thunderstorm in this photograph was taken on the top-end wetlands late in the build up season…only weeks before this area was a dustbowl, yet weeks later it becomes a floodplain ! As the storm surged across the lush plains it dumped heavy rain and some shortlived reprieving cool winds.

thanks for adding your comments Michael and Mark – though this base is not rotating at all…pure outflow feature, and Mark you are actually located in a great area to see severe storms (SEQ)

Spectacular again! Do you get tornado’s in Australia?
Tony Middleton, 2 months ago
thanks Barbara ! We certainly do get tornadoes in Australia just not quite as frequent or as violent as the USA…They occur more often in the mid latitudes of the country rather than the tropics.
