Hook reef

Hook reef

Seeing a coral reef from the air is always a treat. On this particular day I was in a seaplane over Hook reef which is part of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef off Queensland. The Vibrancy and colour of the reef is amazing and from the air you get a great perspective on the structure and shape of a reef.
I had to use a lot faster film than normal to capture this panorama from the air. Added by the sheer size and difficulty in shooting a 6×17 under these circumstances is somewhat challenging but everything came together on this shot.
