Your image has pricked my imagination, what is this young boy thinking. This pictures works very well. Congrats.
khosie replied
Thanks so much Barbara. What a lovely comment. He was probably wondering who the strange redhead “farang” (foreigner) was who was in the middle of this festival in remote Thailand!!
Antanas
great capture
khosie replied
Thanks Antanas… there is a bit of a story behind this… I hate taking photos of people… I feel so shy, intrusive and awful when I do it… my issue… but John Spies…he is on redbubble.. he was with me and encouraged me to get involved and I finally bit the bullet and bit by bit felt more comfortable taking photos. Now I look back I am really pleased. I feel priveleged to have captured such a beautiful moment. xoxo

Oooh, how I would love to go to this festival. I love this costume and you have captured it so beautifully.
khosie replied
Thanks Marjorie, we were looked after so well. I felt like a bit of a dork as there were only a couple of “farangs” (foreigners) there. I am really sensitive towards intruding on other cultures festivals and tend to shy away from taking photos. Luckily, we were with a mate who I mentioned above who encouraged me to take photos and enjoy being a part of the celebration. It was so special to be there and it will be one of the most beautiful memories I have. We were looked after so well by the community and people we were with. xoxoox

Steve McCurry’s portrait ‘Afghan Girl,’ is one of my favourites out if all his images. I find his work really inspiring. Best wishes, Julie.
