Easy Guide to Making a Banner with a photo in Photoshop

Open Photoshop and choose a photo.

Resize the photo to 400 pixels (width) don’t worry too much about the length as you will be changing it.

Choose the crop tool and crop the image to the length you want and, if you choose, width.

Choose the T tool (text) and draw a text box. Add your text, resize text, colour etc and save your Banner!!

fine then… I suspect that the reason why I can not drop this here, may have to do the the fact that the file or image size is way small… so small that I can not preview it to click on it to save it as an image… I wonder if you or any one else knows if that is why?

As well as sending you a link, I wanted to post it here as you had suggested… I will try again…

  • izzybeth

    izzybeth

maybe it is because this is a journal… Hmmmm…

Fantastic! I can do that. he is a card. My banner is too small to choose a buy preview button. Diana, I am so sorry for loading up this journal entry with my musingsabout my feeble attempts at figuring this out. I did notice you host a banner group though.
    Sorry!!!

  • Diana-Lee Saville

    This address doesnt work!!!
Did you right click on your banner’s image? And copy the URL from there?

  • Diana-Lee Saville replied

that won’t work, that link is standard to all rb images so people don’t steal them. You need to upload a banner or image to your account and add the image URL here (take it from your unpublished view of the work) :))

I did upload the image onto my account, and when I add the URL I have discovered that it is a gif. Not a jpeg file

    Ohhhhh… .

Hi patient woman. I wanted to send this to you. I guess my original banner was to small. Once I was able to preview the image I could then copy it and place it here.

Thank you for the lesson. I have so much to learn.

I finally get it!!! thank you so much for your tutorial. I guess I was hung up on a couple of things. but I did finally read your message above which said to take the banner from my unpublished view… the key phrase which I kept overlooking was UNPUBLISHED VIEW. Thank you so much for your turtorial. It was really simple.

  • Diana-Lee Saville replied

ha ha You’re welcome! I’m glad you got it in the end! :))
