the russians did, in 1960, and fucking built it. and they’re still in service.

russia has an ‘emergency fund’ created with oil revenues totalling close on a trillion now.
the schools are sort of 2nd worldy, and so are the hospitals…so what are they saving the cash for? what sort of ‘emergency’? the sort of emergency that involcves investing enormously in military technology, i suspect.

if you compare the above two pictures of the same craft, you’ll understand the ‘flying at an altitude of 1 metre’ thing. on the first picture the shadow of the wings is visible on the sea.

nice, i doubt the 3500m max height. its not aerodynamically stable enough. it uses and needs the ‘ground effect’ to stay airborne, its wings are designed specifically for low flight (+/- 1m)
