In my day job, I am a software professional working with data from a NASA space telescope that takes pictures of some of the most massive and distance objects in the Universe. It is odd then that I have found myself gravitating (no pun intended) towards taking macro shots of things only inches away. The common thread (also, no pun intended)? Details. Whether the filaments of a flower stamen or the filaments from a cluster of galaxies, the beauty is in the details.
