~ Loose in the top paddock ~ by Donna Keevers Driver

The very beautiful Ozzzywoman took me trespassing today (hehe) at Yarramalong, in order to get a few shots of some Shetland ponies. And as we entered the secluded paddock, these guys hopped across it… sigh What a gorgeous sight.

I didn’t realise until I had uploaded pics that the roo looking to the right of pic is a ‘mummy.’ She has a joey in her pouch. I guess that explains why she so straight – having to carry such a load…

NOTE: The title comes from the Aussie saying “They have a few roos loose in the top paddock…” Meaning, they’re not completely right in the head. :)

I take photos. I write. I sing & dance. Ok, I DON’T sing & dance. Not in public, anyway; & usually 2 my own beat. But I have fun, & that makes life a little more tolerable -for me. Maybe not 4 my kids. But, hey, if they can’t laugh at their mum then they’re probably the only ones who aren’t. So turn up the music & let’s boogie! (Do they still boogie these days? Gosh, I’m getting old. Best be careful not 2 throw a hip while throwing a leg!)

Great photo Donna – you are so lucky (or is it especially planned) to be in the right place at the right time ….. lol.

  • I think it’s planned… Like earlier today, when Tim and I got home after going for a walk, I was sitting at my desk, looked up, and right outside my window, on a tree, was a kookaburra… :D AND he stayed there as I took several pics through the window, from my front veranda, and under the tree he was in! :D ~ Thank you, beautiful! :D XOXOX

They look great in their natural environment. I saw some on a tennis court when I went up to Garah to visit my mum back in March. Didn’t get a great photo though. Nice shot Donna.

  • Don’t they! :D I was so thrilled to see them. :D Pity you didn’t get a good shot. :( Tim was on the phone a little while ago, and when I told him of my afternoon and the roos, he said he’s seen a lot around lately – on the Express Way… Alive and not. :( ~ Thank you so much, Michael! :) xxx
