While wandering around the banks of the Ahuriri river in the central South Island of New Zealand this busy bee caught my attention – well actually startled me after buzzing right into my cheek while I was distracted taking pictures.

After following the busy bee around from lupin to lupin for some time he was finally stationary long enough for me to capture his image on a purple tower of russell lupin.
