One of Melbourne’s cultural and historic icons, the Brighton Beach Boxes (or Brighton Bathing Boxes) are certainly a landmark.
Some of the boxes date back to the late 1800s and were constructed partially as a result of a previous era when modesty was a significant concern of beach visitors.
Aside from an interesting history (more information available from here it’s hard not to fall in love with the vibrant colours and interesting textures of the beach boxes hugging the edge of the high water mark.
These are a series of images from morning shoot when the light was just right to make the colours sing and textures jump out to be noticed.
