In the centre of the Cradle Mountain – Lake St. Clair National Park in Tasmania, Australia, is a small lake called Leonard’s Tarn. It is in an absolutley stunning setting surrounded by a rugged cluster of mountains. There are a number of ways to get here, none of them particularly easy, there are no tracks and one would need to allow 3 -4 days each way. Once there, there are amazing possibilities for exploring the surrounding mountains using Leonard’s Tarn as a base camp.
