Looking west from Mt. McDonald, Alpine National Park, Victoria, Australia.

I spent the night of Feb.3, 2012, camped on the summit of this amazing mountain. At 1620m, it is on the crest of the Great Dividing Range. The 650km Australian Alps Walking Track passes directly over its crest. The mountain is relatively remote and so receives few visitors. The west peak of the mountain is the dominant peak in the centre of the image.

Stunning capture and view Kevin, love the sun rays.

    Cheers Jude

  • Thanks Jude. When I arrived at this spot the sun was still relatively high in the sky but I could see it was heading towards the clouds and was hopeful of this result.
