The Leopard Sleeps Tonight by Rhys Herbert

Available to buy on…

A tired leopard that we encountered in Kenya not so long ago. She had just made a kill, and the evidence was there for all to see; what used to be an impala was drooped high over a branch of the tree he is seen lying on here. According to our guide, she was shielding it from scavaging lions and hyenas, but by the look of it she would’ve been pretty vulnerable to an ambush in her sleepy state!

Beautiful image – I am envious that you got a shot like this, I was never able to get a good photo of the leopards. Lovely work!

  • Thanks Damienne! We were very lucky; this was our first full day on safari and we saw this!

Incredible posture, looks like shot dead gg, great take!

  • I think she was pretty full after her lunch, thus the nap! Thanks for the comment Delfino :)
