An Eye for an Eye

This is a B&W abstract of lonliness and fear. This photo I took of my fiance’ while we were testing camera settings.

This is pretty cool. I like how the hands have taken on a marbleized effect. Looks like a glass eye set in stone.

  • Tori Buck replied

Thanks. Very cool way to look at it. That is why I really like to hear what others say about my work. I can see what you are saying. I used silver effex pro filter/full spectrum to get that effect.

As soon as I saw this it reminded me of one of one of my photos, the shape made by the hands
its some kind of symbol, possibly Masonic??

  • Tori Buck replied

No, this was simply playing around with the camera and goofing around and I had my fiance’ do this pose because I thought it looked pretty cool and abstract. Made a great black and white I think. Thanks for your response. :-)

I like the contrasting textures of skin in the foreground compared to the background…fantastic composition-- image jumps out at you!
Your use of light adds to the seperation of space by making the tonal range lighter on the hands in comparison to the eye area…clever photo.
I like this one very much
    —favourite of course!

  • Tori Buck replied

Thank you so much Nicole. One of my most fav comments out of two on here. I like it when people let me know excactly what they get out of a photograph, instead of just “nice shot” which I am guilty of myself at times. :) Thank you so much. I used Silver Effex Pro on this one and turned up the structure to get that feel in the tonal range. Thanks for your great comment. :) I really much appreciate it.
