Motuotau drift line blues by

Taken from Moturiki Island (Leisure Island) view towards Motuotau Island (Rabbit Island) center.
After the sun had risen I got a second chance at the light as it drifted behind the clouds and became defused, not enough movement in the sea but nice reflections and sand pools to work with.

Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Nikkor Lens
Cokin Z-pro ND8 and 4 grads + warming filter.
Processed in CS3 and photomatix Pro HDR

Hi, Kia Ora from New Zealand, i have recently moved to Papamoa in the Bay of Plenty. I have spent the last thirty years taking photos, I love capturing images, especially ones that only I saw, only I was silly enough to get up at that time to catch the sunrise, photography is a wonderful thing, capture an image and you preserve the moment forever, miss it, and its lost forever.

Hope that you enjoy these images.

Ken, this is excellent. I’m impressed with the detail in the pool around the rock in the foreground – and the dramatic sky is just incredible. Great work!
