Mordor Cauldron Blaze by Ken Wright

Mordor Cauldron Blaze by

Taken from inside a cave in a very small cove at Titahi Bay, New Zealand, Middle Earth.

The cave gave me shelter from the elements, wind blowing at about 70k, sea spray all around me, the water in the foreground is at my feet as it rushes into the cave, stunning west light as the sun dies lighting up all the rocks in a burnt orange.

Shot on a Nikon D700, 17-35mm Nikkor lens, Cokin ND8+4 grads, warming filter, processed in photomatix HDR and photoshop.

About Ken Wright

Hi, Kia Ora from New Zealand, i have recently moved to Papamoa in the Bay of Plenty. I have spent the last thirty years taking photos, I love capturing images, especially ones that only I saw, only I was silly enough to get up at that time to catch the sunrise, photography is a wonderful thing, capture an image and you preserve the moment forever, miss it, and its lost forever.

Hope that you enjoy these images.

I guess that’s how it looks like when perfect timing, location, framing, capturing & tasteful pp (for a HDR) come together.
    Very, very nice shot!
