This is as good as it gets, what more could a boy want, snow capped mountains clipped pink by the sunrise, nice water movement, sharp rocks and no wind! its a slice of Heaven.

Shot in the North Bay, Kaikoura near Fyffes Store

Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Lens, Cokin ND8 soft grad, Raw files with Active D-Lighting on High. Photomatix HDR

Hi, Kia Ora from New Zealand, i have recently moved to Papamoa in the Bay of Plenty. I have spent the last thirty years taking photos, I love capturing images, especially ones that only I saw, only I was silly enough to get up at that time to catch the sunrise, photography is a wonderful thing, capture an image and you preserve the moment forever, miss it, and its lost forever.

Hope that you enjoy these images.

lovely light Ken, the pink on the mountains looks absolutely glorious, I was really hoping to get some good morning shots while I was there but unfortunately the elements decided not to co-operate for sunrise shots, I will definitely have to go back as soon as I get the chance.

Fantastic, Ken. Composition is spot-on, colours are gorgeous, water movement is terrific (both the clear and the silky bits!) and … oh my… is that really a bird perched on the rock on the right hand side????

Light, camera and (water) action. A perfect combination. Of course, a skilful photographer also helps.(lol) A stunning location and shot Ken.:)
