This is one of the Matakitakiakupe (Cape Palliser) Collection

Taken at Kirikiri Bay, Cape Palliser Lighthouse at 6.33am, stunning light.

Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Nikkor Lens, Cokin ND8 grad, tripod and sand bags. Active D-Lighting on Norm, ISO 100

Hi, Kia Ora from New Zealand, i live in sunny Papamoa in the Bay of Plenty. I have spent the last thirty years taking photos, I love capturing images, especially ones that only I saw, only I was silly enough to get up at that time to catch the sunrise, photography is a wonderful thing, capture an image and you preserve the moment forever, miss it, and its lost forever.

Hope that you enjoy these images.

And another spectacular image, Ken. Just beautiful, and the “out of frame” foregrounds are a fabulous effect.

Another stunning image in the series, can’t decide which I like best. Love the out of frame foregrounds – how do you do this?
