Ngawi Peach Sorbet Dawn by

A limited edition series of Large canvases, exclusive to a country estate in Martinborough, Wairarapa, New Zealand (or me!)

This is one of the Matakitakiakupe (Cape Palliser) Collection

This was so beautiful, I missed all the red/pink hues, I was at the other end of the beach shooting bulldozers against the pink sky, saw the light changing and ran down the beach to catch this, more to come!

Shot on a nikon D700, 17-35mm nikkor Lens, ND8 soft grad Cokin filter, tripod. Photoshop and photomatrix

About Ken Wright

Hi, Kia Ora from New Zealand, i have recently moved to Papamoa in the Bay of Plenty. I have spent the last thirty years taking photos, I love capturing images, especially ones that only I saw, only I was silly enough to get up at that time to catch the sunrise, photography is a wonderful thing, capture an image and you preserve the moment forever, miss it, and its lost forever.

Hope that you enjoy these images.

Another fantastic shot. Do you use ND filters at all to get the movement in the waves, it still looks quite light.

  • No, I’m just using one at the moment for the sky, I have ordered the Z-Pro rig 100×150mm so that I can use three at a time, my wide angle is not happy with the P series.

the water is simple, I set the camera to 100 ISO, any speed below a 20th will give motion, this is down to 1/4

just ask if you want some tips, also, some of my images concentrate on the wave drawing back, this one is exploding. very different effects.

Thanks for the info. If I need some advice I’ll definitely let you know, I love your stuff. Unfortunately where I live in the Uk the views aren’t quite up to NZ.
