I had waited four days for this to happen, we’d been on a winter break to Mt Maunganui, the first three days had clear blue sky’s and no waves, the fourth day saw the weather turn and on the fifth morning this happened. It was monumental and that’s why I have called it my visual 1812 overture, the sunrise lasted an hour, it just kept getting bigger and bigger till it just exploded into colour and faster that it arrived it died and we had rain all day.
Right time right place and I was there to capture it and preserve it forever. This was monumental, found my self having to run down the beach to get the next break in the light, it lasted an hour and felt like ten minutes and when it was gone I new I had seen and captured something divine! This album makes me feel very humble.
