Seagull Sentinel by kenspics
Clear

Standing on guard to ward off all beach intruders!!!

Taken at Winnipeg Beach in September , 2011 while on vacation there.
I took the liberty of adding a gradient background to give the poor bird some color as it was looking a tad pale (I suspect it’s shift of duty was nearing an end and it had been standing there way too long!).

Of late my passion seems to lie in digital abstract creations, but I have always loved the beauty in nature and the endless possibilities in macro photography!!
Appreciate all and every comment!!!

Don’t look scary to me Ken. I’ll bet if I tossed a piece of bread he would give up his post.

  • I suspect that you are right on that count Paul.. but then on the other hand (er claw) the other seagulls apparently have put much faith in this particular bird .. so one never really knows (and unfortunately I didn’t happen to have a piece of bread on me to test out your theory). I shall have to be more prepared the next time I visit this locale!!! lol

More than anything you seem like being a “spy”…love that sense of distortion where it is standing, and having the aaspect of a dream. Great colour and shading….

  • Very much appreciated Rosa!!!
I do think I must have been dreaming a bit to even THINK this bird could be a sentinel.
As barkeypf (Paul) states above …the bird is more likely to give up his post the moment a spare piece of bread is dropped anywhere near him!!! lol
    Hugs!
