1) Bend over from the waist with arms outstretched towards the four or five chicks milling about your leg. 2) Choose the chick you wish to pick up. 3) Firmly but gently grasp the chick between your two hands. 4) Slowly raise the chick to a position just above waist level as shown so that a trophy photo such as this can be taken.
And thats it!
What?? you were expecting some kind of revelation???
Looks kinda dangerous to me Ken. You could end up with a hand full of something.
If you hear a gurgling noise… yes it would definitely be appropriate to release your hold on the chick VERY quickly!! Good observation on your part Paul!!! lol
Great one Ken…. Now I know you are getting old when picking up a chick is really a chick….lol Paul is right in both ways..lol Ok off to bed for me, it is time to rest the mind…lol
Yes, sigh, when a chick really is a chick… tis a sad day indeed!!! Ah, but there still is that element of danger as Paul has pointed out…so still something there at least to keep my adrenalin pumping!!! lol Have a great night’s rest Carol, and many thanks for your delightful comments!!!
Many thanks for the most helpful tips, Ken, but I see one little problem. Steps one and four to be specific. “Bend down and slowly raise the chick.” Right. Bending down is not a big deal, but slowly getting back up? I don’t think so! :o)
So glad that at least a FEW of the steps were helpful Mike!! lol Many many thanks my friend!!!
Ah. Great Ken. Hope you get to pick up many chicks.
Thank you so very much Gail!!! And as long as these are the only kind of chicks I pick up, I may be allowed by the higher powers in my life to continue to do so!!! lol

I was actually, expecting to learn something from your description! ;-)
Oh well – I am glad you mentioned picking it up slowly though! I often see people pick up a puppy or kitten say, and they swoop it up from the ground to their height and it must make the poor animal giddy!
Cute pic too!
Sorry to have disappointed you Cynthia!!! lol Appreciate your kind comments!!!
