Source is free to use, comes from an old photomanipulation contest on pst. The old site crashed but this user ( also a mod) kept the original photo and posted it in his album.

Here’s a link with the making of – the Steb By Step.

You can see all elements from original source, including the background which has a Lighting Effects with cloud channel.

The refference for the muscles & bones were taken from poser models.

*This picture is the first step in curing someone from arachnophobia and also a great present if your friend’s birthday is on October 31 -Halloween!!
______________________________

Cette image est la première étape dans la guérison de quelqu’un qui souffre d’arachnophobie et aussi un formidable cadeau d’anniversaire, si votre ami est né le 31 octobre -Halloween!*

Thanks C.O.R.E for featuring it.

Process of work:
Made in Photoshop with some help from Poser 7. I warped the tail of a dragonfly and made the torso out of it, I used dodge/burn and layers to give shadows & highlights so that it looks 3d.
The spiderweb on top is made out of the wings of the dragonfly, and since Liquify seemed at that time a tough tool to control, i only used Transform & Warp. The Background is made of some blurry vegetation with a cloud channel via Lighting Effect.

i love the wiry encasement in place of skin. the trasparency of it, yet the fact that its material is harder than the skin make for a fascinating contrast.

  • thank you:D
