Ken…Perfect timing! I cannot imagine how such a small bird could eat such a large frog whole. Great detail and focus in your image.Liz
Goodness, what an awesome moment!! So very sharp and gee, it didn’t look like it could take that frog in! I love it!
Thank you, Joy. I’ll put up one of the yellowlegs swallowing the frog. It’s hard to believe he could do it.

You must have been torn between watching them and photographing them Ken?
There were other shorebirds that I was taking photos of, and I didn’t know what this one was doing. When I looked at the camera monitor after taking a few shots of the other ones, I saw the bird with the frog in the background, and I looked out at the muddy area and saw it. Then I started taking photos of it, laughing as I was shooting. He was having a lot of fun dunking the frog and then trying to swallow it. He finally got it down. Poor froggy!
:-) that’s still a big gulp!! Anyway, outstanding work! My bird subjects eat squishy berries and messy seeds and look ever so vegetarian next to yours Ken!
Congratulations..your work has been featured in the World Wildlife Photography Group
