A beautiful capture!!!!
What a beautiful bird and capture Ken!!!!
This is such a beautiful capture!! Just ♥ that you were able to capture him with a sky blue backdrop, it really brings out the colors and detail of his feathers … an AWESOME image!! Take Care ~ Rick & Deb ~ ☺
Thank you, Rick & Deb. The dark blue backdrop is actually distant trees. Blue sky is on the right. Of all the shots I got of the kite, this one was the most dramatic because of the dark backdrop.

amazing and magical. great shot with great details.
Oh Ken… you’ve captured her in such a coy pose!! Wow! Did you have to wait long?
Thank you, Joy. It was our first sunny day of the holiday, and maybe the last of 2009. I had a nice day out at one of my favorite wetlands, and this kite let me get closer than I’ve ever been to one. It flew away several times but not too far, and I was able to get some good looks. This one had a good backdrop, and might be the best of all the images I got. Later in the day I got some other hawk shots. Are you still chasing birds in the snow?
lol chasing.. with the wrong lens hmmph!
wow is he GORGEOUS! what an amazing looking beauty! i got s surprise yesterday and had a Peregrine flying around my home for a couple hours. not sure what he was looking for.THIS guy though……….wow. LOVE the colors!
Gorgeous capture. So beautiful. Excellent catch and composition.
This does have the perfect setting – backdrop, branch-frame. Oh, so remarkable.
