A water drop clings to life between a rose petal and a tiny feather, stretching the truth of its existence in the mirror of its soul. Photo taken in Lane County, Oregon, USA.

You, sir, I extremely good at this kind of thing… dare I say Getting Even Better? Magnificent, KenKomet.
Thank you dear Sheila! I do appreciate the positive vibes, because I’m not always sure if my new work is hitting the mark or not. Since I got into the feather niche, I’ve continued to discover new angles, depending on the available elements. For example, during the winter, I paired feathers with bark. You know, tree bark. Not too exciting. As spring started opening bulbs and petals, I worked on tulips for the week or so they were out, and other backyard flowering things. Shortly the roses started blooming, but then the weather took an Oregon turn for the cloudy and wet, so I delved into raindrops. I’m not bright enough to know what to look for until I see some results, so I’m constantly experimenting and discovering new looks. The camera work is physically taxing, though. I don’t use any supports, feather pinched in one hand, camera in the other, and trying to find a focus as the wind blows and the body sways. I keep thinking I’m suffering from the aches and pains of old age when I get up in the morning (which would be appropriate for my 66 years), but the pains all seem to belong to those muscles involved in the squatting and bending and leaning and concentrating for hours at a time. And I thought chasing birds through the wetlands was a tough chore! Thanks again, you always pick me up!

Glad to oblige, though I just looked at what I wrote & wondered how ‘are’ turned into ‘I’. But you knew what I (yes, I) meant. I more than appreciate your aches & pains, but mine are truly due to my 65 years & various family curses. What ever you are doing, it’s working, any way you look at it.
