    Amazing shot! How did you get this? these guys usually do not like to let you get close. Did you use a long lens? Love the pattern in his wings, and the metallic body is gorgeous too!

    Thank you for all your great comments! This one let me stick my 60mm macro an inch from his back. I’ve noticed that sometimes you can sneak up on a dragonfly and they don’t seem to see or hear you. I wonder if they take a nap or go into meditation mode, or something. Most of the time, though, as you say, they whiz off when a person gets closer than a few feet away.
