Emergence

This an old picture of mine. Whenever it is shown it has always been a point of discussion. Most people that I have shown it to often see one of two images. Many see a question mark but more interestingly most view a boxing skull emerging from the broken light globe. Anyway I hope you enjoy it and thanks for dropping by.

I see a few different images in this, both of what you mentioned in your title intro but what really grabs me is the fact that the wire element is still burning even though it’s enclosure has been shattered. Technically and visually amazing work.

Thanks very much Peter. The filament usually lasts for about a 1/2 second

It is intriguing, Ken. I expect it means different things to different people, depending how mental they are, rofl! :o) How about a snake’s head? (Its OK, I’m taking the tablets….......)

It’s a wonderful image but sadly all I see is smoke, or is this how genies look when they escape from a lamp????
    Ectoplasm??????
    It’s truly technically impressive.

I too see the boxing skull and the question mark~~incredible image Ken. I have a photo of a fire that has the face of a screaming demon in it, but the quality of the photo is not up to par, unless I can find a way to improve the quality, it will just be a photo lost to carelessness!!

I am sort of like Lumineux. I think once your brain has a train of thought it’s very hard to contrive another image. Although I am looking Caroline….......5min and still only a skull. Sorry Caroline

  • Caroline Gorka

    Caroline Gorka, 5 months ago

    Ok…maybe it is my mind..
It started as a seahorse curled up…. then a fern frond …but it is definately an embryo for me.

This should be part of psychological testing !

I see everything you all have mentioned. Except the embryo. Mostly I see the skull…..but it’s not boxing. It wants to shake hands.

Anyway, I also want to say I love your profile. I love your kids’ names. and oddly enough, my older one is named Olympus also. And can you guess my youger’s name? It’s Canon! Unfortunately, I only have two. But I really, really want another. (I might name it Nikon)

I was going to say switch it around to see the question mark… but now looking at it again… ??? I see the question mark… duhhh and yes, I see the boxing skull… it can surely hurt things with those small arms. Great timing to capture the smoke in a shapely form. I see the broken glass… did you break the bulb while it was on?... or was it broken first…. nevermind… now I understand how this site works,,,, duhh… look at the previous comments.. lol. 1/2 second. Great ready, get set… on… POOF!,, what camera? On burst mode until the smoke went off the screen? Was it dangerous with a light switch? Nice capture of your glowing filament without the brightness. Ok.. now I see the one eyed cobra snake. Very large hood it has… as well as a smilie face… ok… no more meds for me.. hahahaha
