What a fabulous photograph and now we know why a moth can see so well at night – eyes like saucers! I have read that this lens is very tricky to use, yet this photo makes it look a breeze. I doubt if it was. Superb result, I am not worthy etc etc…

WOW WOW WOW WOW!!! What a ADORABLE little face!!! This past summer the highlight of my day was mornings and evenings to go out and play with the butterflies and skippers in my garden. I’ve got so many shots of these guys it’s ridiculous!!! But NOTHING .. NOTHING like this magnificent shot!!!!!!! May I ask a technical question or two … and if you’d rather not spill your secrets, I COMPLETELY understand!!! But … I was wondering, did you use a tripod?? And a macro lens?? And if a macro, were you on a wide open ap?? In which case, you would have had to use a tripod??? I’m sorry, but I’m absolutely aGOG at your magnificent dof!!!!!!!!!!!! That seems to be the thing that trips me up with my macro lens … the short dof .. AND the need to breathe, lol!!! Thanks … don’t bother responding if you’d rather now!! I’m still pretty new at this and sooooo in awe of great photography!!!! OH to be a fly on the shoulder of people like yourself!!!! Thanks!!!!

It’s possible…maybe a female Canon EF-bayonet mated with a male Nikon F-bayonet but it’s going to take a lot of machining! It would be almost like putting an MP-E in front of a short extension tube though, there might be some vignetting. Ah well, if I can afford an MP-E I should be able to afford a Canon body! :)
