Love this! Such beautiful colours and contrasts. No ‘e’ in Ullswater, though! Very inspiring – I want to go for a row on a lake now!

  • Thanks and sorry about the spelling, I’ll go and stand in a corner now shall I?

Great concept and angle of capture. Lovely color overall and the lighting is excellent. The lines of the boats and the metal pieces keep the eye engaged. Makes for a beautiful abstract!

  • Thanks Joanne much appreciated

Trivial shot but a great image! A great photographic eye at work again!

But are you sure it was raining?

  • Don’t you start Miron. Leah got me with is it a Mallard. All I can say is I was wet, but then maybe I fell in the lake. Thanks my friend

The funny thing about spelling is that it’s a modern thing. The most literate and intellectual people would spell the same word five or six different ways on the one page in the sixteenth century, and spelling wasn’t standardised until fairly recently – in the Victorian era, I believe! So, I’m sure Ulleswater is a spelling that has been used at one time or another.

  • As a teacher I am always ticking people off for misspelling. But I think my problem is my age, my brain has stopped working. I can’t remember how to spell the simplest of words nowadays. wasn’t having a go at you dear friend just being er, facietious, facetious,er cheeky.
