Indeed it would test my faith. Makes one realise how small we are.
Kenart replied
Thank you. The small ruined black house at the bottom right is an old seaweed gatherer’s house.

Oh WOW!
Such a spiritual image Ken!
Love your title and love this image….............
sincerely, Rosie
Kenart replied
Right on the Atlantic Rosie, nothing from here until you reach you. Well Newfoundland anyway.
Sean Farragher
beautiful capture
Kenart replied
Sincere thanks Sean. I’m rather fond of this also.

Good heavens Ken – is that a diving board I see stretched out over the loch or the sea? What a powerful message in this my friend. It does take great faith to stand on the edge – or live on the edge – of such a precipice, let alone walk out on a board! And know little of the vastness that lies beyond. A profoundly moving piece Ken one that can be interpreted in so many ways.
Kenart replied
I’m afraid it was not originally a diving board Lianne. It is a very thin strip of land. But as I have said before. I do not mind however viewers interpret my images. The idea of the title was that this was once the edge of the known world except for the legends of the celtic saints such as Brendan. Incidentally I did a series of paintings on the legend of Brendan which are also here on RB if you would care to look or more easily on my website www.kenart.co.uk

To be around at the time when this was considered the edge of the world would make me feel awed and tiny, the view would seem amazing but ominious. Great shot and the heavy colouring adds weight to the feeling the image gives. :o)
I’ve just looked at your legend of Brendan paintings. (You may remember) I never really had a handle on abstract art – not something I can actually do myself – so I’m not going to try to say something clever, but I will say that I love the colours and shapes you use, they’re really eye catching and beautiful. The style you use kinda reminds me of the aboriginal style of art.
Kenart replied
Same here Zoe. About the Edge that is. I felt that taking the shot and knowing what I know.
As far as Brendan is concerned they are not really abstract in a pure sense. I bet if you look carefully you can see all sorts of things. Like a fish or a whale or a ram horn or a waterfall.
Debi Peralta
Very evocative work, and the title is magnificently chosen.
Kenart replied
Glad you like it and glad you like the title Debi, thank you so much.

I will look again ;o)
