Tasman Sea Cliffs
These are the tallest sea cliffs in the southern hemisphere, at 200m high.
Taken today (20th January 08) whilst on a cruise around the Tasman Peninsula on the way to Tasman Island. If you want to see the REAL Tasmania I can’t recommend enough experiencing this part of the coastline. Whilst I took this image I was being buffeted by 50knot winds. All part of the experience!

I said WOW! outloud when I saw this Kelly. It’s an area I’ve wanted to photograph but I’m starting to think the only way to do so is by sea. Was it one of the regular cruise operators? Is it normal to get in this close to these beautiful cliffs?
They look like they go all the way to the sky! Great photo!

Hi Neil – thanks for your comment! It’s totally unbelievable the scenery to photograph. The conditions today were very difficult, with a low pressure system dominating the southern coastline. To answer your question, yes today I travelled with Tasman Sea Cruises. I cannot recommend them enough! Let me know if you come back, I’ll gladly join you for a trip!!

Love this view…great perspective.

wonderful! If you stare at this image long enough you can imagine it the other way around. The sky in this case becomes the ground or actually by the way it looks, as though you’re falling into the mist; the end of the world. I agree with the others here, great perspective! It would be fascinating to see these cliffs up close. :o)
