Have you ever been in a fight?
Was your outcome of it good?
In the end, were you right?
Were you finally understood?

Did they acknowledge you?
Did you make them see your side?
Did they even hear you?
Or cover up with pride?

Has your life been a fight?
Do you retaliate to pain?
Are you quick to jump?
Are you scared of feeling restrained?

Have you given your all?
Have you lost what you gained?
Have you trusted someone?
Were you ever to blame?

Have you loved someone?
Ever gave them your heart?
Did they make you believe
“WE were meant from the start?”

Betrayel after betrayel
Trying to make sense of it all
Wonderig which of you
is cause of this fall

Harder and Harder
you try everyday
wondering if your doubts
will ever go away

A new life you promise
From state to state
Changes will soon turn to good
When my leaving is at stake

No more abuse
I demand of you
Its NOT the physical
I get from you

I cook, I clean
and maintain our home
Yet when your with them
You forget to use the phone

Hours go by
Several calls I have made
Here we go again
How much more can I take?

Drunk as a skunk
You stagger in the door
You start a fight
I try to ignore

Sick of the lies
Believing your going to change
Wondering why
I am feeling deranged

Exchange of words
That tear us down
No one deserves
the anger we found

Tired of fighting
I cant seem to make you see
Its your drinking
thats destroying our family!!
