My Dhow Passion in Dubai by Keith Richardson

Some of my passions include sailing boats, dhows and photography. Three of these came together recently in Dubai, at the finish of the annual 60 foot racing dhow race, with over 1 $million in prize money. I was able to get up-close-and-personal, to my excited joy, and see what elegant and light thoroughbreds they are. With a crew of over 20, they literally fly under twin sails, each supported by huge booms, the forward one reaching out to a massive bow-spit stretching far out beyond the bow of the boat. INCREDIBLE!
